Description: With the Emperor 1, it’s all about the deep color of its delicate 5-7 pointed leaves. This Maple won’t get lost in a sea of green foliage during the summer. Its rich reddish-purple color lasts from Spring through Summer until turning a brilliant crimson red in the Fall. After shedding its leaves, the reddish-black bark is revealed to make it a striking landscape feature even in Winter. Although it can tolerate full sun, the foliage color will be most brilliant in partial shade. Prized as a focal point for rock gardens amongst deep green Juniper shrubs, this tree adds texture and contrast to your yard. This is an excellent choice for a newly built modern house with a small front yard.
Growing Considerations: Although it prefers partial shade, the Emperor 1 will perform well in full sun if planted in well-drained, and nutrient rich soil. These beautiful trees rarely require pruning, are low maintenance and disease and pest resistant.
