Description:  At just one third the size of a standard Southern Magnolia, the aptly-named Little Gem allows homeowners with small lots to experience the joy of Magnolia blooms every Spring. The fragrant, creamy-white flowers appear in abundance, even when the trees are young, growing as large as 8 inches and appearing on and off through the Fall. The leathery, evergreen leaves are pretty enough to be used in cut floral arrangement and holiday wreaths. 

Can be planted in a row with 5-10 feet spacing to create screening along a fencerow, road, or a space that needs privacy or visual interest. This tree is all the things you love about a Southern Magnolia condensed into a smaller version.

Growing Considerations:  The southern magnolia is adept to most any soil type.  It can withstand flooding and also periods of drought.
