Description: The redbud is one of the southeast’s most beautiful native trees. Its beautiful pink flowers are amongst the first signs of springtime. The heart shaped leaves compliment any landscape. The “Summer Tower” variety is a more vertical growing tree, which makes this variety an excellent street tree. The red bud species is a perfect tree for any small space. It is an understory tree, which means it usually like part-shade growing conditions, but it is tough enough to be in full sun.
Growing Considerations: Can grow in a variety of soil types and is moderately drought tolerant. This is an excellent tree for small patches of yard and obscure small places. The unique vertical growth habit of this variety makes it a great tree to squeeze into places otherwise not suitable for more horizontal growing trees.
Mono-culture Risk: Overplanted in General, Consider Buckeye as an alternative which is also offered in this sale.
Invasive Risk: None
